That describes ME! I am such a collage of emotions and thoughts and craziness these days....I know it's my age(well, partly...I've always been a tad scattered)....but now I am so drawn to collage art and I KNOW it's because I can relate to it! I just got that Collage Workshop book...I study it like a history book...I want to try all the techniques and then I look at some of those illustrations, and I think, "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?" I mean she says she added such and such to keep to the "theme", and I think, "WHAT THEME?" Am I missing something? Am I not deep enough or intelligent enough to get it??? AND YET, I like it! I don't know why or what she was trying to express, but I still am drawn to it...so maybe that was her theme...just to add something to draw people IN???
I wanted to share one of my China dolls today. She's considered a "high brow"...probably made around the Civil War period in the 1860's. She is one of my favorites because she's all original. Her lace is falling apart, her hands are leather, and her boots cloth. I just love her face. She is so regal and respectable. She has a turquoise silk waistband and I love that color...it highlights her dress. I look at her and she looks at me...I know she is thinking, "Yes, Betzie my dear, you are a mixed up mess!" LOL

Yes, she has a lovely face. Book, I guess I never thought about a how to book bor collage. I just pick out what I like and throw it together. walah!! Well now you've got me curious, I'll have to look for a book.
