Too many HOW TO books???

I am feeling overwhelmed right now with ideas. Do you get that way? I feel like I've been reading too many books!!! Sombra made a comment that he never uses instructions or books to create his art. I think that is wise. I think sometimes I look in books too much and it actually stifles my own creativity and my own resources. I get bogged down with having to do it their way and not my way. I have to buy materials on their lists and I find myself collecting more than creating!!! I need to trust myself more and let my own creative spirit flow.

I do love looking at these books though. It's my bedtime story each night! I can't wait to get my cup of tea and just look at them over and over. I guess they are good starting points at times and can also inspire you, plus teach new techniques, but I think I am overdoing them.

This is when I enjoy blogging! It does help to write things out, doesn't it? I used to journal all the time when I was younger, but haven't done it for years. This is sooo much fun and a learning experience too!
Enjoy the day everyone!

I am such a book lover that I can't resist any and all books. I have way too many instruction books or inspirational books and I usually look at them and then forget I have them! And yet when I see another one I can't resist buying it. I think I need help!!

I think we all are guilty of this at some stage.I did find that I was so engrossed in learning, that I forgot to apply it and actually do hands on.
Sad but true.

Books are fab before bedtime.
I look at them as aiding my art dreams.

cheers

I think having a lot of books to refer to is a good thing. Don't be to hard on yourself...when the right project hits you you'll be glad you have the books, for now just enjoy looking at them.
BE BLESSED

I like the way littledawnieno1 put it, they are good for art dreams.

I agree though that following instructions distorts my own natural creativity. I have a few books, not a lot.

Hey - I'm glad you liked your little crazy quilt heart!

I am constantly getting ideas from my art books. I love any kind of mixed media books. I wish I could have all the books that I see, just have to buy one a month though. They are fun to read!
