Quotes and Quips-The Three Muses

My favorite:

THE BUTTERFLY COUNTS NOT MONTHS BUT MOMENTS AND HAS TIME ENOUGH -Rabindranath Tagore

My other favorites are ones that I hear ordinary people say....

Like my son's piano teacher a few years ago....I loved going to his home with my son and listening to him teach. I pretended to read my magazines or scribble in my journal, but REALLY I was listening.... He would say so many wise things like...

INSPIRATION COMES TO YOU WHEN YOU PLAY(I find this so true, don't you?)

BE INTERNAL (I think he was trying to get my son to really think about the music instead of just banging the keys...LOL)

Then there was my grandmother....my sweet Bertha(her nickname)....

"Do everything in moderation."

"Dig in the earth and you'll never have a nervous breakdown."

"LOOK FOR THE UGLIEST MAN YOU CAN FIND, AND MARRY HIM." (yes, she really did tell me that...LOL) Just threw that one in....hee hee My husband is pretty cute...

Anyway I think we all have our own wisdom to share....so here is mine this week....and I hope you SING to your soul's content....

A few of my images came from The Graphics Fairy, a few from my own collection...digitally collaged and played with...The last one I combined with fabric, lace, and rhinestones.

Your Grandmother sounded like a very fun lady. I loved all of these quotes--and great piano teacher too! Wonderful creation-just a really good post :)

this is a lovely post, I read the quotes and thought of my own Grandmother. She seemed to have a voice about most things, little strings of humor and love.

What a wonderful collection of artwork and sayings!! Your pictures are exquisite and you have made my day by sharing your favourite quotes. I think my top choice would be the one about digging in the garden because it is so true. Any time I am feeling less than happy, a few hours of digging and cutting and planting blow the cobwebs away.

Fantastic artwork.
Love your quotes.

Your butterfly collage truly took my breath away! I love the "time enough" quote and totally agree with the words of your son's piano teacher. I think the gardening philosphy expressed here may well be the reason for my own tenuous grasp on sanity. A great post all around!

If you have time, please stop my blog, Amusing Muses, for a special blog event.

HeARTfully yours,
Kathy

I enjoyed making my way down today's post on your blog, all the wisdom in those quotes. Except for the one about digging in the garden will keep you from a nervous breakdown. Digging in the garden is apt to GIVE me a nervous breakdown. I can't stand to weed.

I loved your art. It's beautiful.

Betzie, I thoroughly enjoyed these quotes, and what a hoot that your grandmother said that about the ugly man. LOL!

My dad told me never to marry someone that wasn't as smart as me, so I found the smartest guy and married him. Daddy was right. I would have been miserable with someone who wasn't very bright. He knew his daughters well. He also told my sister never to marry anyone she didn't respect.

I love that first quote. It reminds me of the essay on attitude by Charles (Chuck) Swindoll. I don't know if you know it, but I think you'd love it, Betzie!

XO,

Sheila :-)
