PINK ANGEL OF MINE

Happy Pink Saturday!

Here is a little pink angel I made using two dresden PINK cone shapes I'd bought some time ago for her body. Never did make them into cones, but glued together back to back them made the perfect Angel skirt! I added some metallic paint to her, some fiber, glitter, beads, buttons, and used some PINK mulberry paper for her wings. I had an old German Bible and used some words from one of the pages to decorate them, adding a touch of gold around the edges. The script is just so pretty from that book.

I used a face of a Boudoir doll that just seemed to fit somehow. I'd tried a lot of different faces, stamped ones, magazine ones, people ones, but hers just seemed right to me.

I painted her arms and gave her some old little forget me nots to hold and a little white dove to keep her company. Of course I had to give it a little silver crown to wear so it would be elegant enough for an angel.

I think the finishing touch was the little old Valentine heart I found with silk ribbon attached.

Loved what it reads on the inside...

I gave her a spun glass halo like some of the old angels had....you can find these right here online along with lots of wonderful dresden and other exquisite finds...

Castle in the Air
She has a **GlOW** about her in person and she sends you love and grace...
Happy Pink Saturday and hope your angel stays with you always...
Be sure to see the other participants today over at Beverly's at How Sweet the Sound.

Good Morning Sweetie,
I adore your little angel. You put much heart and soul into her design and it shows. I love her halo, I have a family vintage tree top angel that has the same material for her halo. Now, I know what it's made of. Thanks.
Happy Pink Saturday.

Betzie, you're so creative--I just love the vintage feel of this, like I found this treasure somewhere in an antique store. And a German bible--I'm jealous!

Betzie, you're in the G. and Poet class too!! If you are, what is your name on there--mine is Diane Salter. We can friend each other. Download the videos, and just listen and watch her--you really learn, and yes it will be fustrating for a while (it still is for me)--even she says that.

Hello Betzie,

can't click the pick but I can read the front - "through the door of friendship". Well with something like that, I am sure everyone will be curious as to what it says on the inside too :-)

Isn't it amazing when you have something intended for something but then as time passes by, you end up creating it for another (just when your creativity flows unexpectedly). I think the angel is just the sweetest!

Wishing you a blessed New Year!

Mizpah,
Li

I'm a day late and a dollar short with my Pink Saturday visits. The sun was shining too bright yesterday and just like a little kid I couldn't stop marveling at how lovely it was as it beamed through my lace curtains and puddled on the floor. My cats were in heaven.

So, here I am today, a little late but thinking that I got a bonus because I avoided all the traffic!

Lovely blog and the sweetest pinks that you shared. Thank you so much for making this such a lovely Sunday for me.

Betzie~Your Angel is so pretty. Up until now I wasn't really feeling inspired for Valentines Day. Your sweet creation is the perfect Valentine, especially with the sentimental words written. I enlarged the photo to see all the beautiful details. She is the vintage inspired motivation I was looking for.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

She is darling, Betzie! Love her much. You put such care into the things you do, and that's why they are lovely. :-)

I am working on a post for tomorrow (and coming back from exile) to visit for the day! :-) My post just happens to feature some pretty pink ornaments and soaps that a very special bloggy friend made. Just wanted to tip you off. ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)
