I'm late, I'm late, for Pink Saturday's date!!!

Finally, a little new art to share!

I took this wonderful old portrait of a Lady and her dog and did a mixed media collage.

I love doing these, but I find I am hoarding too much little tidbits, thinking that I MIGHT need them someday. Do you do that? I just can't seem to stop and I am running out of space. So many fun materials out there to use as well.

I just love old portraits of ladies and/or girls, especially if I find one with a Cavalier!
I guess thinking about my son a lot these days at college, brought out that sentiment I added on the side...I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.

Have a great Pink Saturday and hope to get around a bit and visit soon.

Betzie :)

It's really beautiful and yes I reckognize this hoarding pattern...I have way too much too, buy even more and when I need it I cannot find it or I don't remember that I have it. "I have too much", I told my husband the other day and his reply was: I thought you never could have too much! He's right! Or well taught!
Have a great pink Saturday, what is left of it and an even better Sunday!

When the blossoms of summer begin to fade we can always count on Pink Saturday to bring a smile to our faces and to remind us that somewhere there are pastels and pretty things.

Thanks so much for sharing this week. I wish you sunshine and lollipops today and always.

When it comes to anything that I think I might use in art I save it! And then I hate to use it because then it will all be gone! Your collage is beautiful. Hope your pink Saturday wa great.

Greetings Betzie I'm finally back from my summer long blogcation.
I read until I hit bottom....I too hunt, gather, and store many treasures waiting for the perfect project to use my stash of embellishments on. It looks like you found just the perfect one for yours.
I loved the birthday tribute to your father. It actually made me misty thinking of both my hubby and my parents who I desperately miss. your words and thoughts were so precious. Thank you for sharing your loved ones, including your son. My youngest son turns 22 this week. They do grow up too fast. I do believe the empty nest brings tears to birdies too.

I've enjoyed catching up. Please stop by...I look forward to the return of your company.
Sweet wishes,
Sara

Hello Betzie!

Didn't I just remember you saying way, way back "enough with papers"? or something of the sort. LOL I hope I remembered it right :-) But I guess, when someone as creative as you hits that rush, you just have to create!

I don't know if I collect and collect, but there are certainly times where I saw something and would think that hhmmm something for a future project :-)Now, I'm curious what your craft room looks like :-)

Mizpah,
Li

(oh, before I forget, I too steam cupcakes and cakes cause I tried baking and I end up with a burnt cake. At least now I won't have to worry with that LOL)

What a lovely result using your bits and pieces. Yes, I hoard them all the time. I am doing self-psychoanalysis right now to try to figure this out. :-)

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hi Betzie, This creation is gorgeous. You really are the queen of mixed media and altered art!! Love the little saying off to the side. I know you are missing your son!!
Yes, I know the feeling of lots of little artsy tidbits, saving for projects that sometimes, for me at least, never happen. My ideas are there, just not enough hours in the day to get it all done.LOL!

Oh how fun to redo your MB. I think one of the hardest thoughts is decided which color direction to go with. Do you have a theme in mind? I have pics of our MB in a slideshow at the end of my blog. It is a soft goldtone yellow. The room is french country, but now I would like to change the color to sage green. The room has lots of black and either way, the colors both go with it. The bath is part of the room too, so I would be taking the color in there as well.

Let me know how it goes. Have fun!!
Thank you for stopping by and your sweet comments. It is cooler here now and that got me in the mood to decorate for Fall. Today is beautiful.
Blessings to you, Hugs,
Celestina Marie

Love the Pink, it’s good to save…that is my motto.
A few years ago, I decided to get rid of most of my art supplies.
At the time I was not doing artwork and felt I would not in the future.
I began blogging about 10 months later and became inspired again…

I know I will never be able to replace it all…so save, save, save.

I too have been thinking a lot about my kids…so I know how you are feeling….

Hugs,

Louise
