I so enjoyed this challenge, I decided to make two...the first of Marie Antoinette...I used graphics from google, a postcard image of Marie, and a few graphics from a book by Anna Corba, called ALPHABETS & ORNAMENTS. I thought the snakeskin edging was appropo.
Then I recently saw THE BLACK SWAN at the theatre and got inspired. It was such a tense movie...I liked most of it other than a few parts...I love ballet and Natalie Portman was just fabulous. I think it's a love/hate type of movie in more ways than one! :)
I used google images, a photo I took of a real black swan in London by Buckingham Palace,
my photo editor, and the wings I had stored for quite some time and can't recall where they came from...the red border just seemed fitting.

WOW, Betzie. Thanks for sharing both of these wonderful bits of art. I especially like the Black Swan. Both are beautifully done!
What striking pieces, Betzie, both are stunning, I especially like the 'Marie' piece! (love your humour in that one!)

Betzie, both pieces are stunning in every way - and, you are right, the touch of red in the second one works very well. Your artwork is superb.
Gorgeous artwork Betzie, I love the Marie one best, don't ask me why, both are really beautiful.xx
Wow Betzie! These collages really rock! I am fascinated by the black swan, though and would love to see the film. I am secretly a black swan, I think!! 'o)
The graphics look fab! We saw the BS this weekend - I'm like you some things were not to my liking, but overall it was intriguing.
Stay warm!

I think Black swans have more interesting lives! I haven't seen the movie yet but I look forward to it.
I love the two-faced Marie surrounded by snakes!
Those are just awesome images! The swan is beautiful..
Hi, Betzie! Thanks for commenting on my blog. Somehow I missed seeing your recent postings- but they are fabulous! Both are beautiful, each in its own way. Haven't seen Black Swan- I'm a little afraid to- heard it was good but so intense and hard to take at times.
Both are wonderful! I think the second is my fave!
Wow! These pieces are both stunning.
~The snake skin edging is awesome!
The black swan is my favourite ... I am going to see the film soon.... I hope I am in the 'love it' side!

Two wonderful pieces of art.
2 great pieces, the first one has Marie Antoniette, always a good subject that you took with fine sense of humor. The second one resulted ina a dramatic piece. It made me want to see the movie (I think it will here - Brazil/BrasÃlia - only next week).
Wonderful collages, Betzie, both very well showing what can be done with black and white and a little bit of red.
Two glorious pieces, Betzie - wonderful work!
Betzie, I couldn't possibly choose between either of these awesome pieces of art. The first has humour whilst the second has drama. Kudos to you for such a wonderful pair of collages.
That looks so cool and is great for the challenge
WOW, cool and beautiful pieces!! Love them both :)
Wow. Very cool. Love them both.
Hi Betzie,
All I can say is WOW how wonderful! You are over the moon talented and you never cease to amaze me with your imagination and creative powers.
I love both of these pieces!! They are truly stunning. I think the people who made the movie with N.P should see your creation. I think they would want to use it somehow.
You are a true talent!!
Love to you, Celestina Marie
