Every year I have a few decorations I have to put out. Others I only use now and then, but there are some that just have to come out, or it wouldn't be the same.
I love this one setting with the old German feather tree, my crosstitch, and my little handmade teddy sitting in the antique sewing basket...stained, but precious to me.
I have it all sitting on my old Singer in our family room.
Then, there's my grandfather's tin Santa Claus plate...I know these are highly collectible, but this one will never be sold(at least while I'm here).
I also have an old Nativity scene that has to be displayed too..my mom always put it out when I was little...just love the memories it evokes.
Baking cookies this week..I have to wait until almost Christmas or they are GONE way before it gets here. Teenage boys in the house....

The same thing happens to cookies around here but there are no teen aged boys to blame it on!!
The Santa plate is just beautiful. I agree that it should never be sold. Things like that are priceless especially when they have a sentimental attachment. I like the little cross stitch tree, too. Very sweet.
Hi Jan!
I didn't make the cross stitch tree...came from ebay made by a lister called "twosisters" I believe it is...they do wonderful work, making things look so old and primitive. I used to cross stitch a lot, but gave it up quite some time ago...onto new adventures...LOL

Ohmygosh! We have the same problem with cookies at our house, and mine aren't even really teenagers anymore. (Well, DD is 19, but that hardly counts!) I guess it's just a universal problem :-)
What a wonderful thing to have, the nativity that your mother always used. There is something really special about family heirlooms.
I read all down your blog and commented on the way back up so now it is time to look at some of the older posts.....
Thanks Cyndi! I was so happy to see you here!!!! You are like a celebrity to me! :-)
Gail, how kind of you to write all the things you did. I will visit your blog soon when I get a chance. Can't wait! Thanks again for taking time to comment. I always feel we meet up with people we are meant to connect with for some reason or another. Glad to meet you!
